Roxanne de Bastion moves on from community lead role at the FAC

Roxanne de Bastion announces that she is moving on from her role as Community Lead at the FAC. Roxanne started designing and hosting events for the FAC in 2015, shortly after she was invited to join the Board of Directors in order to represent a new generation of independent artists. Since then, she’s played an integral role in shaping many of the FAC’s flagship events, such as Open Artist Sessions, The Artist:Entrepreneur Day and the FAC’s monthly hang-outs for women and female identifying members. She’s also played a big part in setting up the FAC’s BEAT Board (Breakthrough and Emerging Artists Together).

The move follows the independent release of her critically acclaimed second album, ‘You & Me, We Are The Same’ in 2021. Despite the Pandemic, it's been a great year for Roxanne with support from the likes of Iggy Pop, Steve Lamacq and the legendary Janice Long, the album receiving favourable reviews in publications such as The Guardian website, Record Collector, The Yorkshire Post and R2 Magazine. With touring slowly on the return, she’s taking the time to focus on her music and other creative projects. Roxanne will continue her duties as Board Director.

Roxanne de Bastion:

The FAC has become such an important part of my life, it’s going to be strange to take more of a backseat, but it’s such a joy to see how much the organisation has grown. The past years are filled with highlights, but the best part of the role was getting to know and work with so many artists and brilliant people in music, to see them all come together to create this beautiful community that is the FAC. Thank you to the team, our partners and to you, our members and supporters, for making this such a special organisation to be a part of - here’s to many more years of artists supporting artists via the FAC”

David Martin, CEO, FAC:

“Roxanne has made a huge contribution to the FAC, our membership and the artist community over the last six years. It’s with mixed emotions we see her leave her role. We’re of course sad to see her move on, but delighted that she’ll remain an integral part of the FAC through her position as director and we’re very happy to see her spend more time focussing on her own artist career. I’d personally like to thank Roxanne for all of the support that she’s given me since I joined the organisation. We all wish her the very best of luck in the next stage of her career”
