Open Artist Session with Ed O'Brien

Radiohead guitarist and FAC Co-Chair Ed O’Brien hosted the first of a series of monthly informal drop-in sessions for the next generation of young artists in central London tonight, as part of Independent Venue Week.

Attendance is free but places are restricted to FAC Artist Members only and will be allocated on a ballot basis; the Open Artist Sessions are run in association with ethical promoter Success Express and Songwriting Magazine.

Ed O’Brien said: “I want to hear what it’s like to be a young artist navigating his or her way through the music industry in 2015.  In this way and through our experience in the business, hopefully, we can find a way to better support our sisters and brothers.”

Paul Pacifico, CEO of the FAC, added: “We are really excited to be launching this first event as part of an ambitious programme for 2015, that will allow us to consult and engage with artists from across the industry as part of our work in lobbying, advocacy and education for artists.”

We will be hosting similar sessions with other high profile FAC directors and music industry contacts on the last Thursday of every month throughout 2015.

Lorraine Solomons, of Success Express, said: “We are very proud to be working with the FAC, who give the support and information needed to genuinely move artists on towards commercial success.”
