“As we enter into what is set to be another year of change for the music industry, the FAC is uniquely placed to provide a platform for artists and creators who, for too long, have been left out of conversations at the top tables.  With a large and growing family of artists, from those at the very start of their musical journey to the icons that inhabit the world’s largest stages, we provide a unified voice to those creators at the centre of the UK’s truly world-beating music industry.  Those that innovate, create, entertain and bring joy for so many fans, and those that have helped so many of us through the toughest of times.  I look forward to welcoming more incredible artists to the FAC as we continue to turn up the volume of the Artists’ Voice.”
David Martin, FAC CEO

The Featured Artists Coalition (FAC), the UK artist trade body and not-for-profit organisation, serving a diverse, global membership of creators at all stages of their careers, is expanding and announces a range of new membership benefits.

The FAC is formed by artists, for artists, and we place this ethos at the centre of all we do. In addition to having a creative board of directors, including founding member Nick Mason (Pink Floyd), Ed O’Brien (Radiohead), Imogen Heap, David Rowntree (Blur), Katie Melua and two recently announced observers Kelli-Leigh and Aluna, as well as a diverse group of advocates, including Nadine Shah and Terri Walker, the FAC recently announced 52 ambassadors, adding the likes of Skin (Skunk Anansie), Ghostpoet, Adam Devonshire (IDLES) and Anna Calvi to the community, supported by Paloma Faith and Johnny Marr. We’re coming together to provide a strong, collective voice within the industry not only for established but emerging artists. Our BEAT (Breakthrough & Emerging Artists Together) board is a group of inspirational younger artists, including new additions Rich Legate and Rosie Bans, who feed into the main board so as to ensure that the organisation represents younger, independent and up and coming artists and the challenges they face.

The FAC has been at the forefront of the #LetTheMusicPlay campaign, published a Covid-19 directory for artists, supported the DCMS Inquiry into the economics of music streaming and worked on the development of the UK Music Ten Point Plan, working towards improving diversity and representation. We have partnered up with Attitude Is Everything and Keychange, to help ensure that the rights and interests of Deaf and disabled artists are fairly represented as well as ensuring better representation of women and underrepresented genders across the music industry. The FAC is a leading voice in national media, fighting for a post-Brexit touring campaign, seeking Europe-wide Visa-free work permit for touring professionals and artists.

In the last year we hosted more events than ever and we made The Artists' Voice louder than it's ever been. We’ve hosted our monthly Open Artist Sessions (OAS) with ambassadors including Simone Butler (Primal Scream), Nova Twins, Blaine Harrison (Mystery Jets), and new board member Eckoes, as well as our Artist:Entrepreneur Days in partnership with CMU. We hosted events advising on hardship funding, project funding as well as mental health and we are looking forward to a new event series in partnership with AWAL. We also pivoted our annual Artist & Manager Awards, hosted alongside sister organisation, the MMF, to become a documentary, which will take place at the end of the month.

We welcome all artists and creators, as well as music fans looking to support artists, to join our wonderful community of artists as FAC PRO members and enjoy our new exclusive membership benefits, whilst helping us in our mission to represent and protect the artist community. Not only does the FAC PRO membership grant priority and free access to FAC events, discounted tickets to the Artist & Manager Awards, and discounted events for MMF, Ivors Academy, AIM, MPA, MPG & Musicians’ Union, it also gives members premium access to our brand new FAC mobile & web platform powered by FanCircles, creating a space for FAC members to interact with each other, watch live streams, feature songs, access all premium content, network and collaborate in real time with other artists. FAC PRO members can also receive up to 75% discount on their own, branded fan platform, alongside discounts on music industry coaching with Elite Coach Stephen Daltrey, songwriting courses with Jud Friedman as well as music manufacturing with Key Production. The FAC seeks to effect change in the music industry through collaboration and education, offering pro-bono legal advice, sample management contracts, FAC free guides, reports, analysis, research, access to online courses, board nominee and voting rights, exclusive networking opportunities with fellow artists and other industry players, a chance to feature on the FAC Spotify playlist as well as fortnightly updates from our CEO David Martin about events, music news, funding opportunities, job vacancies and latest government policy and its impact on our industry.

Sign up to become an FAC PRO member - we aim to keep our membership fees affordable at just £5 per month or £50 per year, and we give artists the opportunity to sign up via a PPL contribution of 5%. You can sign up to our newsletter and become a community member for free.

We are looking forward to growing our FAC family and we hope to see many new members in the future. Your support helps us to stand together in fighting for artists’ rights at a domestic and global level and helps empower us, increasing the volume of the artists’ voice.
