We are hiring: Events & Membership Assistant

 
 

The FAC is hiring for a part-time role for a period of six months. To be eligible, you must be aged 16-24, currently out of work and claiming Universal Credit. You will need to apply by giving the company name [Featured Artists Coalition] and job title [Events and Membership Assistant] to your work coach at the JobCentre Plus. The JobCentre Plus will be able to provide information on wage and estimated start date.

Role Core Responsibilities:

Work with the wider FAC team to help organise, market, and deliver events.

Liaise and work with FAC partners such as Amazon Music and Spotify to ensure smooth delivery of our joint events.

Together with the wider FAC team and your mentor, you will work on a project to create a clear plan to help us transition our online events successfully and smoothly into hybrid format, meaning real life events live-streamed to our wider membership nationwide.

Foster new industry relationships to identify new contributors for FAC events.

You will be working with the wider FAC team to create a strategy to increase the FAC membership engagement and membership structure. This will involve thinking about the needs of an artist in the modern music industry and making sure the membership benefits package is engaging, educational and beneficial to our existing membership as well as attracting new and diverse artists to the FAC community.

A crucial part of your role will be to assist with communications, including with our artist community, our partners, the wider industry and Government.

You will have the opportunity to roll up your sleeves and work on various FAC campaigns on issues such as the live music sector recovery post-pandemic, streaming and Brexit. This will include devising campaign plans, as well as taking part in developing communications strategies and content.

You will work closely with the company’s CEO and have mentoring opportunities including the chance to observe the FAC Board and other senior industry meetings. You will attend various industry events and meetings, staying up to date with the latest trends and developments in the UK music industry.

At the end of this job placement you will have developed the following skills: CV writing, interview skills, job searches and goal setting alongside other skills outlined above. All in order to ensure you are equipped with confidence and ability to find further work.

Requirements

We are seeking an enthusiastic self-starter with a diligent work ethic, positive can-do attitude who is proactive about relationship building.

A passion for events, social and digital media is key.

Exceptional organisation skills with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to prioritise, multi-task and work under tight deadlines is essential.

Excellent communication skills, strong knowledge of current and developing music industry trends and platforms is essential.

A degree or further education qualifications is not essential.

Location

London – Ministry of Sound, 103 Gaunt Street, London, SE1 6DP. The position is to based in our office, although we are open to discussing some remote-working options.
