Event: Featured Artists & Survival in the 21st Century
Featuring Ed O’Brien (Radiohead), Nick Mason (Pink Floyd), Mark Kelly (Marillion) & Master Shortie - presented by David Stopps
On Wednesday 28th October, FAC members and prospective members were invited to join us at PRS (29-33 Berners Street, London W1T 3AB) for the FAC’s next educational event. The evening was an opportunity for artists to speak with four of the FAC’s board members who were sharing their experiences and observations in an informal setting.
With almost 100 years of experience between them – Pink Floyd broke through in the 1960s, Marillion in the 1980s, Radiohead in the 1990s & Master Shortie in the naughties – the event was no doubt both fun and informative.
Some of the topics that we covered include:
The range of income streams available to featured artists today – songwriting, performing live, recording, music in films, TV and video games, branding, sponsorship and income from collection societies
Discussion about direct-to-fan models such as those used by Radiohead, Marillion & Master Shortie
The goals and ambitions of the FAC and how they relate to members' careers
