Deezer & FAC support artists in new mentoring programme

Global music streaming service, Deezer, and the Featured Artists Coalition have partnered to support artists worldwide. The partnership kicks off with a special ‘Deezer x FAC Masterclass’, as part of Deezer’s recently launched mentoring programme.

Deezer’s Masterclasses offer 10 developing artists from the independent sector a free full day of seminars. Each Masterclass is led by experts from Deezer who help artists learn more about streaming, marketing, social media, PR and more at a nearly stage in their career. Past attendees have also been treated to a surprise guest appearance and Q&A with an established artist such as Aluna. Earlier this year, Deezer hosted its first Masterclass for women artists as part of its campaign to empower Women's Voices. The second session this summer focused on championing up and coming Queer artists. Now FAC members are next in line to receive a full day of dedicated mentoring.

“The FAC and Deezer share a passion for empowering artists at a critical point in their career. We believe that artists should have all the knowledge and understanding they need to succeed. The curriculum of our Masterclass and the skills we focus on are all geared towards helping artists grow their streams and connect with more fans. We’re looking forward to working with the FAC over the coming months to support musicians across the artist community,” said Nigel Harding, Deezer’s VP of Global Artist Relations.

“We’re delighted to join forces with Deezer to launch the Deezer x FAC Masterclass for developing artists. Empowering artists through education is central to the FAC’s mission and is fundamental in levelling the playing field, particularly for independent artists. Deezer share our values of supporting sustainable careers through the provision of knowledge, tools and infrastructure. As we start to emerge from the devastating effects of the pandemic, it is vital that those artists who are in the formative stages of their journey are given the very best chance at success. We look forward to working with Deezer on further opportunities to support our community in the months ahead.” added David Martin, CEO of The FAC.

The call for applications for the Deezer x FAC Masterclass will be open for applications on Wednesday 3rd November. FAC Members can apply by 12th November and will receive a dedicated mailer on how to do so. Sign up to become an FAC member.
