We are delighted to support upcoming online events presented by Byta, which will take place on August 31st, 12.00 ET  / 17.00 BST, live online via Zoom. You can register here for free. They have also partnered with Measure of Music, founded by Christine Osazuwaz- part conference / part hackathon, to provide music industry hopefuls & industry career changers a crash course in music & data with some of the most influential people and companies.

“How do you make the numbers work?” with Christine Osazuwa, Global Marketing Director of Data & Insights at Warner Music Group. Christine uses numbers for good and believes that business can be an art and art can be a business. What does it mean to oversee and develop a marketing data strategy? How does one identify and break global priority artists by creating benchmarks and KPIs in order to ensure long-term global artist growth? Christine has managed to combine all of her passions, music, marketing, and data into consulting with various music startups, venues, festivals, radio stations and labels, bridging the gap between music, data & business. She will explain how data and numbers are no substitute for a good story & passion (but, you better have some damn good numbers to back it up). Insights will be revealed that can be implemented at every turn while pursuing a career in music or the music industry. This is a new monthly online event that will be presented in two parts:

  1. A workshop: Tips & insights for tomorrow’s artists & music industry leaders with Byta founder, Marc Brown.

  2. An in-depth interview with Christine Osazuwa on using data to identify and accelerate the careers of the next global superstars.

This series is designed to deliver the knowledge to enable tomorrow’s artists and industry leaders to better manoeuvre their way through the music ecosystem. Providing a fun and insightful Q&A along the way!

#HowWeListen Live: In Conversation will be hosted by Byta’s founder, Marc Brown, whose deep music business background and digital audio knowledge have helped him deliver unique insights to audiences from Tallinn to Toronto. Marc is a former label owner, A&R, manager and radio plugger.

The workshop will introduce industry insights that Marc has picked up from his work in A&R departments, running his own radio promotion company, plus years of experience managing artists and significant large scale projects. Some of the topics he will touch on include artists teams, timelines and connecting the web of the music industry. Plus, most importantly, tips on what you can do yourself to better increase the chances of your success.

Each event will feature an in-depth one-to-one conversation. This time the conversation will look into how to work numbers and have numbers work for you with Marc’s guest, Christine Osazuwa, Warner Music Group Global Marketing Director of Data & Insights. There is no substitute for being well organized and using every tool at your disposal. Using numbers for good, to build a story and to develop a career. Bring a notebook and pen.
