Annabella Coldrick, Chief Executive & MMF & David Martin, CEO, FAC:

“The Artist & Manager Awards uniquely celebrates both the creative talent of artists and the entrepreneurial acumen of their business partners. Our first selection of awardees perfectly  encapsulates these qualities and we are delighted to honour the achievements of Pulp and Jeannette Lee, Craig Logan and Soul II Soul on November 20th. In their own unique ways, all have made a deep and lasting impact, not only within the artist and manager community, but across music culture overall.”

In a year that marked the band’s triumphant return to the top of the UK album chart, the FAC and MMF felt 2025 was the perfect moment to recognise the long-term partnership between Pulp and Rough Trade Management's Jeannette Lee

Working together since 1992, as Pulp began their ascent towards the commercial successes of His ‘n’ Hers, Different Class and This Is Hardcore - it is a union that has flourished for more than three decades, encompassing number one albums, a run of Top Ten singles, iconic Glastonbury performances, an Ivor Novello and Mercury Prize, numerous solo projects, and two high-profile comebacks.

Jeannette has been a mainstay on this strange and eventful journey and, as co-owner of Rough Trade Management and Rough Trade Records, remains one the UK’s most revered and empowering cultural figures. Emerging from London’s punk scene of the late 1970s as a member of Public Image Limited (PiL) before joining business partner Geoff Travis in the mid-1980s, she has consistently championed and supported artists who eschew industry norms - overseeing the careers of multiple acts including The Cranberries, Spiritualized, Beth Orton, Cate Le Bon and Baxter Dury, while releasing classic records by the likes of The Strokes, The Libertines, Lankum, Anohni, Amyl & The Sniffers and Sleaford Mods amongst countless others.

Jeannette’s work with Pulp encapsulates all these qualities. Playing a pivotal role in shaping their career, she has helped the band transition from cult favorites to mainstream icons. Her strategic vision and understanding of their artistry allowed Pulp to achieve success while maintaining their unique identity.

And that identity remains as strong as ever. Buoyed by this year’s brilliant Mercury-nominated album More, also released by Rough Trade Records, passion for the band has been reignited on a global scale - taking them from Bridlington Spa in May 2023 (scene of their initial comeback show), to sell-out arena and festival performances across the UK, Europe, Japan and North America.

Frankly, it’s like they’ve never been away.

Sponsored by PPL, the Artist & Manager Partnership Award will celebrate Pulp and Jeannette’s shared achievements and their extraordinary and ongoing musical legacy.

Craig Logan’s career is similarly storied, encompassing pop stardom, the highs of the record business, often working with artists for years over multiple roles, and - for the past 14 years - life as a global entrepreneur and manager to some of the world’s most celebrated artists, including P!nk, Dido, Anastacia, Beverley Knight and Imelda May.

Starting out as one third of Bros, where he accumulated multi-million album and single sales, Craig went on to manage Kim Appleby, co-writing her Ivor Novello-nominated hit Don’t Worry. It marked the start of a journey across the business side of music, and by the age of 25 he was VP of International at EMI Music, working with artists including Robbie Williams, Tina Turner, Diana Ross and Garth Brooks.

Coming back to artist management in 1999 and joining forces with Roger Davies, he worked closely with Tina Turner, Joe Cocker and Sade before signing P!nk, who he nurtured and co-managed - resulting in 30m album sales, and multiple global tours. Following a successful return to record executive life as MD of the RCA label group working campaigns for artists such as Beyonce, Shakira, Alicia Keys, Justin Timberlake and achieving label of the year in his first year in charge, he would eventually establish Logan Media Entertainment (LME) in 2011 - a new boutique management company with offices in London and LA.

LME now encompasses multiple divisions - including two record labels, a digital and social media agency, a sync imprint and standalone businesses to represent visual content creators, influencers  and promote talent-led brand partnerships. The company’s recent successes include sold out tours for P!nk, Anastacia, Beverley Knight, Imelda May and Roachford and a number one album for Ball & Boe - an impressive feat for a traditional act on an independent label.

With artist management at its heart, LME’s 360° multi-faceted approach stands as testament to Craig Logan’s visionary leadership and deep-rooted understanding of the music business. Notably, he also remains a tenacious advocate to the artists he works with, as demonstrated by his ongoing long-term working partnerships with many of his artists, including Anastacia, Dido and P!nk.

For all these reasons, we are delighted Craig Logan will receive our 2025 Entrepreneur Award - sponsored by Sound Royalties, leading providers of creator-friendly funding solutions for the music and entertainment industries.

In recognition of their ongoing influence on British music culture, Soul II Soul will be recipients of our Pioneer Award, sponsored by PRS.

Formed by Jazzie B and the late Daddae Harvey, and forged in the North London community centres and sound systems of the early 1980s, Soul II Soul’s fusion of reggae and soul in an era of Balearic beats and Acid House would create a genuinely genre-breaking movement. Tracks such as Keep On Movin’ and Back To Life (However Do You Want Me) put their sound on a global map, incorporating the collective talents of singers and producers including Caron Wheeler and Nellee Hooper, and achieving genuine transatlantic success with the seminal album Club Classics Vol. One.

A constantly-shifting line-up has kept Soul II Soul at the forefront of music culture ever since, through subsequent albums such as Vol. II 1990: A New Decade and Vol III: Just Right and also as live performers - taking their slogan and calling card ("A happy face, a thumpin' bass, for a lovin' race”) to audiences worldwide. Beyond these musical accomplishments, they became the first artist collective to open stores in both London and Japan, expanding their brand and influence to clothing, records and accessories.

From clubs to arenas, Soul II Soul remain a formidable force today, with global album sales to date of over 10m. The MMF and the FAC, of whom Jazzie was a founding director, are honoured to pay tribute to one of the UK’s most influential musical pioneers.

Established in 2012, the Artist & Manager Awards is produced by the Featured Artists Coalition and the Music Managers Forum and celebrates the creative and commercial partnerships between artists and their managers.

The event has become a firmly-established fixture in the music industry calendar, and last year’s sold-out ceremony was attended by more than 600 guests from across the business, with Pet Shop Boys and manager Angela Becker recognised for their long-term partnership.

Other awards were received by Chase & Status and Sophie Kennard, Paloma Faith, Barry Can’t Swim, Riverman Management, Finesse Foreva, Ant Hippsley, Hope James, Victoria de Juniac, Yungblud and the team at Special Projects Music, Cymande and SOPHIE (posthumous award).
