CIISA Report: Unlocking Growth Through Accountability - Tackling Workplace Conflict in the UK’s Creative Industries

 

The Creative Industries Independent Standards Authority have published a new report on Unlocking Growth Through AccountabilityTackling Workplace Conflict in the UK’s Creative Industries which draws on new independent economic modelling and analysis, incorporating insights from former UK Government specialists as well as expertise from across the cultural and creative industries.

Headline findings include:

  • £1.8 billion: The annual cost of workplace conflict in the UK’s creative industries.

  • 5% average productivity loss for each of the 700,000 individuals affected.

  • The largest cost driver is people leaving work early, stepping away from projects, or exiting the industry entirely.

  • 1.4% growth gap in Gross Value Added (GVA) that could be narrowed.

This research provides new economic evidence to support the case for much-needed practical action like the establishment of CIISA that safeguards the workforce and sustains growth in one of the UK’s most innovative sectors.
