What is an Online Artist Session?
Open Artist Sessions (now Online Artist Sessions!) are monthly, intimate and informal Q&A's for FAC PRO members with an experienced artist or industry figure. They aim to provide education, advice and help to nurture our artist community. They are free and exclusively for artists. Spaces are limited, so we recommend signing up quickly to secure a spot.
About The Anchoress
Welsh songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer The Anchoress (aka Catherine Anne Davies) is the epiphany of an Artist Entrepreneur. She is self-taught, driven and has an incredibly inspirational work ethic. She has found a room of her own, creating a one-woman sonic vision on her second album, The Art of Losing, a collection of songs that Caitlin Moran hailed as “the inadvertent, beautiful, and truthful soundtrack to this moment” and The Sunday Times named as one of their 7 “must-hear” Albums of 2021.
Whilst her 2016 debut album Confessions of a Romance Novelist won awards and attracted critical acclaim, The Art of Losing successfully transformed wall-to-wall critical plaudits into a Top 40 position in the UK album charts, as well as the #1 spot on iTunes. It was also named album of the week by The Sunday Times, The Line of Best Fit, Mail on Sunday, and The Telegraph, and found fans everywhere from Waitrose Magazine to the Financial Times, to a spot on Made in Chelsea, as well as a coveted place in The Sunday Times Albums of 2021 & The Guardian’s Albums of the Month.
From building her own incredible body of work, to touring internationally as a session artist with Simple Minds, to holding educational talks on music production, Catherine Anne Davies is one inspirational independent artist with a wealth of wisdom to impart.
This session is a must for any independent artist wishing to make things happen for themselves.
