The impact of coronavirus has been unprecedented. The pandemic has affected millions of people worldwide. The music industry was one of the first to be impacted and will be one of the last to recover. The long term effects are still unclear but artists have been acutely affected. In this webinar we speak with artists Howard Jones and Stewart Baxter (Life), who have felt the first hand effects of the outbreak and hear how they have been responding.
We will also hear from the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS) about the UK Government response and some of the measures that are in place to support businesses and individuals. Colleagues from our sister organisation, Help Musicians UK (HMUK) will also be joining us. The charity responded quickly to the crisis, convening industry bodies and developing a central online hub of information, including details of health and wellbeing support services. They also administered a multimillion pound hardship fund for musicians. The UK's leading funder of new music talent and development, and FAC partner, PRS Foundation (PRSf) will also join, to discuss how they have responded and adapted their funding models and tell us about their COVID-19 Music Relief partnership with Spotify.
Join us to hear about some of the support that's out there for artists and some of the ways in which other artists are responding.
