Join us for our flagship educational event, Artist:Entrepreneur Day (A:E Day). The A:E Day from FAC and CMU comes to Southampton taking place at The Stage Door on Saturday 2nd July 2022. The event is free, thanks to support from Arts Council England.
Learn how to build a business around your music-making from a team of artist entrepreneurs and music industry experts. The day will be hosted by three FAC artist entrepreneurs – Russell Marsden of Band of Skulls, an English rock band from Southampton. WREN who is Hailing from the South Coast of England and blends velvet vocals, hypnotic bass lines and sweeping guitars to submerge you into the electronic undergrowth. As well as Benny Bizzie - a British singer and songwriter and FAC Artist Ambassador with a soulful tone – who will each let you inside their individual artist businesses.
They will be joined by CMU’s Chris Cooke and a team of music industry experts to provide insights, ideas and lots of practical advice.
Doors open at 10.30 for a 11.00 start. You can book free tickets to attend in person or to tune in to a live stream.

To pursue a career around your music-making you need to generate income from your songs, recordings, performances and fan relationship. Learn about the key artist revenue streams and find out how our artist entrepreneurs make money from their music.

If you’ve written a song, you have created a copyright. If you’ve recorded a track, you have created another copyright. Welcome to the copyright business!
