Online Artist Session with Adam Devonshire (IDLES)

  • Online via Zoom 103 Gaunt Street London, England, SE1 6DP United Kingdom (map)

The FAC's Open Artist Sessions are monthly, intimate and informal Q&A's for FAC PRO members with an experienced artist or industry figure. They aim to provide education, advice and kinship in our artist community.
They are free to members and exclusively for artists. Spaces are limited, so we recommend signing up quickly to secure a spot. This month we are lucky to have Adam Devonshire, bassist of band IDLES.

About IDLES

IDLES met as a quintet at the death of the indie scene in Bristol and began making visceral and sometimes unlistenable post-punk to a growing crowd. They began with their own club night Batcave and practicing religiously until they felt they had found their sound and their live show.

Their first album Brutalism was released to critical acclaim. DIYmagazine, gave it 4 stars, calling it "An exhilarating escape along frenzied rhythms and powerhouse rhythms with a ferocious commentary for guidance...as vital as it is volatile. "The Line of Best Fit website gave it 9/10, calling Idles "one of the most exciting British bands right now. They are Kerrang and Libera award winners and have nominations for Brit and Berlin Awards as well as for the Mercury Prize.

Now four albums in, with their last album Ultra Mono hitting the no.1 spot on the Official Charts, they are currently on tour, a performance at Coachella this year under their belt and when we speak with Adam Devonshire on 28thJune 22 they will have just played Glastonbury a few days before.
